Multiple permanent roles for Legal Adviser(s) - Malaysia

Hours of work: 11am – 8pm Monday-Friday. 




Purpose of Department:  To provide legal support to the UK businesses of the bank. 
This appointment is on-going and we are seeking multiple candidates to join a growing legal team. 


Responsibilities:






Provide legal advice and support in a clear, commercial, timely, often “on the spot” legal advice.
Meet customer needs by ensuring legal enquiries and related issues are handled in an appropriate and prompt manner.
Continually reassess the operational risks to the UK businesses of the bank taking account of changing economic, market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements.
Able to work independently and have credibility to lead others in decision making
Ensure all internal audit and compliance requirements are met.
Undertake research and keeping track of changes in legal and regulatory areas
Development of legal database for internal use.
Contribute towards the training and coaching of new joiners to the team





Requirements:






Must possess a degree in Law (LLB) – UK , New Zealand, Australia with a minimum  2.2
Malaysian degree from International Islamic University, University Malaya and University Technology MARA with minimum CGPA 3.0
Litigation/Commercial/Corporate experience with emphasis on drafting commercial agreements
At least five (5) years of working experience either in-house or private practice and preferably with experience in managing a team of lawyers / legal advisors.
Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality and having a close attention to detail
To be a multi-tasker, a good team player and a quick learner
Able to apply legal principle and sound commercial judgment when giving advice
Strong time management
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
A working knowledge of Ms. Office
