Manage the performance of a team of Java webapplication developers, from junior through to technical lead.Selection of team members in conjunction with the Head of ASP, and ongoing development of the team.Work closely with solution architects, enterprise architect and team leader to develop IT strategies,support tools selection, and on solution design.Resource planning of team’s work, in collaboration withproject managers, delegation and priority setting.Reporting on tasks and issues to various levels of the organisation.Work with project managers and business analysts to translate requirements into technical designs and tasks for other IT team members, and provide guidaance forothers’ technical design work.Occasional detailed physical design of applicationsfrom business requirements and logical designs.Occasionally write production quality executable code(including documentation) for user interfaces, business processes, domain objects etc. and database scripts.Validation of code quality using walkthroughs, code reviews and unit tests.Guidance of team in development of application build and deployment scripts or configuration.Project or development team leadership as needed,including work team task management and reportingMentoring of junior developers.Contributing across development teams to increase capability in tools, frameworks, experience,collaboration and strategy development.Ensure secure application design and development practises are followed.
